FEMA 2535 - Introduction
FEMA 2535 is an organic compound with the chemical formula C9H10O3. It is a typical Ester compound with the following properties:
1. Appearance: FEMA 2535 is a colorless to light yellow liquid with aromatic odor.
2. Solubility: it can be dissolved in some organic solvents (such as ethanol, acetonitrile, dimethylformamide, etc.), but the solubility in water is poor.
3. Melting point and boiling point: its melting point is about 60-63 ℃, boiling point is about 280 ℃.
The use of FEMA 2535 mainly has the following aspects:
1. Chemical Synthesis: it can be used as an important intermediate for the synthesis of other organic compounds, used in the preparation of dyes, pesticides, pharmaceuticals and so on.
2. Perfume additives: Due to its aromatic smell, FEMA 2535 can be used as additives in perfumes and fragrances.
The preparation methods of FEMA 2535 mainly include the following:
1. Esterification reaction: It can be obtained by reacting phenylacetic acid with P-methoxybenzyl alcohol under acidic conditions.
2. Acylation reaction: it can also be prepared by reacting p-methoxybenzyl alcohol with acyl chloride (such as phenylacetyl chloride) under alkaline conditions.
